English Department Attends Prestigious Public Speaking Workshop at University of Macau
On 30 August, the English Department of Saint Paul School organized a visit for teachers and students to attend in the “2025 World Universities Public Speaking Invitational Championship” held at the University of Macau. The event brought together elite speakers from 11 renowned universities worldwide, providing a platform for exceptional oratory talent and meaningful cross-cultural dialogue.
The morning session featured two specialized workshops led by internationally recognized experts. Mr. Kwong Yue Yang, third-place winner of the 2019 World Championship of Public Speaking®, delivered an inspiring session titled "Stand · Speak · Lead". Mr. Brian Hodgson, founder of Public Speaking Hong Kong, engaged students with “How to WOW – 5 Strategies for Impromptu Speaking,” offering practical frameworks for effective spontaneous communication. Saint Paul School students participated actively, gaining valuable techniques to enhance their stage presence and public speaking skills.
In the afternoon, teachers observed the Grand Final Contest and attended the Awards Ceremony, witnessing top university speakers in action and celebrating the event's highlights.
