The youth exchange chair of Rotary Club of Sandbach, England, Mr. Adrian Ramsden, visited our school from 26th June to 28th June. Not only did Mr. Adrian teach for 38 years at London, Birmingham and Macclesfield, but he also served pastoral duties as a Form Tutor before he retired. Knowing Adrian’s affluent educational background, we invited him to have sharing with our English teachers and Religious Knowledge teachers. Besides, he taught public speaking at form four and five classes where he used various methods to make our students speak, and most of all, enjoyed using English in class. We also showed him around the school to experience a Catholic school environment in a Chinese background society. Nothing can represent the local culture more than foods and so we invited him to taste different authentic cuisines in order to better understand the Chinese eating habits. Though Adrian’s stay is a bit short, we share the insights about education and cultures and promise to continue having the visit in order to benefit to both teachers and students.
