As a means of motivating students and cultivating English learning, The Reader’s Theatre (RT) competition was organized at Saint Paul School Hall on 10th May!
After the first round of selection in their home class, the best team of each class was chosen as representatives to compete in the Intra-class Reader’s Theatre Competition.
Two student Emcees, Tim Tong (F5D) & Mimi Chan (F5F), greeted the audience warmly and kicked off the event which a 150-audience attended in hope of showing support to their fellow classmates. The competition was adjudicated by 3 experienced judges, Mr. Philp Lai, Ms. Sue Tai and Ms. Tobie Ieong, who scored each team based upon criteria ranging from stage performances to speech delivery.
Contestants from each class showcased their best onstage, earning themselves deafening cheers and praises from the crowd. To put the icing on the cake, 2 junior students who represented the school in the Macao-wide English Solo Recitation Competition performed their contest recitation. To their senior fellows’ surprise, the girls wowed the audience with their poise and brilliant performance. At the result announcement, it turned out that 2 classes achieved the same score, allowing them both to be the second place in the competition.
Contestants also expressed gratitude to all the teachers who invested enormous time and effort in coaching them. Let’s pass on our thanks and congratulations to all students who participated as contestants, guest performers and student helpers. The competition would not have been a success without their continued support! Well done, teachers and students!
