English project briefing workshop
Professor Morrison and Evian Ho, the coordinators of the English project, held a meeting on 13th October to make all the participating English teachers know more about the project. Professor Morrison first briefed the background and purpose of the English development plan. He emphasized that not only the curriculum and pedagogy, but also the evaluation system needed modifying if we wanted to improve the standard of English at our school. Teachers generated their own works during the project was also a key feature to make it a success.
Teachers were then divided into groups of four to share the insights of their thoughts of an ideal language classroom and lesson. Ms. Evian Ho asked teachers to share their beliefs and responded accordingly. Finally, teachers from primary and secondary sections were mingled together, chatting with each other while enjoying the food and beverage. Teachers had a better understanding of the project and a better bonding was built after this briefing meeting.
