To motivate students and cultivate English learning, the Form Five Reader’s Theatre (RT) Competition 2024-2025 was successfully held at Saint Paul School Hall on 29th April!
This year’s competition was a collaborative project with the Moral Education Subject. Each selected play carried a meaningful theme and message related to moral education, such as teamwork, bravery, and benevolence, enriching the event with both educational and creative value.
Students first participated in a preliminary round within their home classes, where the best performers were selected to represent their classes in the Intra-class Reader’s Theatre Competition.
Two student emcees, Bella Leong (F5D) and Janice Pang (F5D), warmly greeted the audience of 190 students and teachers, kicking off the event with energy and excitement. The competition was judged by three experienced teachers: Mr. Philip Lai, Ms. Heather Chan and Ms. Lavina San, who evaluated each team based on their stage performances, speech delivery, and overall creativity. In addition, several special guests attended the event, including the Speaking Class Teacher, Mr. Neil, and class teachers: Ms. Swaller Ieong, Mr. Rocky Wong, Ms. Linda Zhang, and Ms. Shirley Leong.
All Form Five students enthusiastically participated in the competition. They cheered for their classmates and enjoyed the performances, which showcased the contestants’ talents, teamwork, and creativity. Class teachers shared encouraging comments and valuable feedback with their students, further enriching the learning experience.
At the end of the event, prizes were awarded for the winners of the competition, along with special awards for Best Costume and Best Pronunciation. Contestants also expressed gratitude to teachers who devoted their time and effort to coaching and supporting them.
Heartfelt thanks go out to all the students, teachers, and helpers who contributed to the success of this year’s competition. It was a truly memorable event that inspired teamwork, creativity, and personal growth among all participants. Well done, teachers and students!
